Dreaming your life, or living your dreams?

People are always looking for the perfect recipe to be successful and happy. I don’t believe that there is a perfect recipe! Everybody is different. Depending on where you come from and where you choose to live your life, your cultural and educational backgrounds could be advantageous for the choices you will make, or they could be obstacles to your happiness.

For example, having professional experience working in different industries can be very positive in some countries, because your different qualifications and flexibility to adapt to changes are interpreted as assets. However, in another country you may be seen as an unstable person who cannot handle staying in the same job in the same industry for long, and it may seem like you don’t know what you want.

For this kind of situation that you may face in your life, trust me, you need to be confident. Having confidence in yourself and your abilities will be key for you to survive and be able to achieve all of your goals wherever you are in this world.

I really believe that you can change your life. It doesn’t matter what your age is or where you are. Being happy is everybody’s right. But to make it happen you have to know one important thing first: you need to get to know yourself and what drives you in life.

At 16, I left my childhood home in the state of Para, Brazil. To travel in the world, to work, study, and build a better future. I learned early in life the dedication and motivation that it would take to achieve all of my goals, both personal and professional. Education has always been an extremely important aspect of my life and is the drive behind my total commitment to my goals. Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to stop dreaming your life, and start living your dreams.

Also my passion for sport, in particular motorsports, gave to me self-confidence to challenge and develop myself in very difficult job environments, different countries, and to achieve my objectives in study, work and leaving abroad. Besides my professional life I have experienced some kinds of race and I’ve followed motorsports races, especially Formula1 with much passion my entire life.

I’m always looking for new challenges in my life, especially in my professional environment that allows me to live and discover new experiences. To do this, I strongly advise you to keep one thing in your mind: you and you alone are ultimately responsible for shaping your own destiny through the choices you makes and the actions you take.

“I choose to live by choices, not by chance; to make changes, not excuses; to be motivated, not manipulated; to be useful, not used; to excel, not compete. I choose self-esteem, not self pity. I choose to listen to my inner voice, not the random opinions of others. I choose to be Ana Paula, and no one else”.

It is not easy to change and make new choices in life. Time passes fast, and making changes can be risky and very costly to you; it may mean sacrificing years of your life, living without important things and people that you love. Alternatively, it can be a good thing to do, not just because it helps you to improve yourself, but also because you get to know more about your potential. “Surf in different oceans” may not be the secret to getting rich, but it will definitely make you stronger and teach you new skills, it will take you to wonderful places; such as you would never have believed you might visit.

If you are facing self-confidence issues over your future development, I will kindly say to you that there is no right answer or perfect recipe. You need to move, go start somewhere. Everybody is different; the only thing we have in this life that is equal for everybody is time. You have just one life; you are 25, 30, and 40 just one time in your life!

    Ana Paula,
Many people can talk the talk, but very few ever walk the walk. Your drive and determination should be an inspiration for all. Many people through the years have asked me, “what is the secret to your success”? My answer always the same: “Without a lot of hard work, it’s still a secret”. You have worked incredibly hard and the key is to have confidence in your ability and never give up. I look forward to the day when we will meet again.
